How to roleplay as your character on Discord
Discord does not give every player a built-in “post as character” mode. Character proxy bots fill that gap — so you can play as your cast with the right name, avatar, and voice in RP servers.
What “proxy” means
In Discord roleplay communities, a character proxy (in MultiMuse, a muse) is an identity the bot posts for you. You write the message; the channel sees the character. That is how PbP and multi-muse writers keep casts distinct without juggling multiple Discord accounts.

Create a muse (your character proxy)
Open MultiMuse from the Discord Apps menu, run muse add, and walk through Basics (name + trigger), Media & Style, and Notes & Privacy. Save the muse when you are done.

Write with a trigger — or turn on auto-proxy
Type your muse trigger, then the IC text. Or run /muse auto in a scene thread so ordinary messages post as that muse without the prefix.

Keep scenes moving
Use thread tracking (/track) so you can see where you owe posts across servers. Pair with StageHand scene tools when your server uses them.

Give the character a home
Profile cards and public character pages make the muse shareable. Communities and Listings (rolling out on multimuse.app) help you find where they live and who they play with.

Already have proxies elsewhere?
If you are moving from another Discord proxy bot, export your characters as JSON and import them from MultiMuse dashboard Settings. You should not need to recreate every muse from scratch.
