Frequently asked questions
MultiMuse is the Discord roleplay ecosystem for your characters — create muses, play as them, and find where they live and who they play with through Communities and Listings.
What is MultiMuse?
MultiMuse is the Discord roleplay ecosystem for your characters. Create muses (character proxies), play as them in Discord with profile cards and smart messaging, and — as Communities and Listings roll out on multimuse.app — find where they live and who they play with.
What are muses?
Muses are character proxies: named personas with avatars, triggers, and sharing settings so you can post and roleplay as your cast in Discord servers.
How do I roleplay as my character on Discord?
Invite MultiMuse, create a muse for the character, set a trigger, and post with that trigger in your RP channels. The bot sends the message as the character’s name and avatar. See the Discord character proxy guide on multimuse.app for a step-by-step walkthrough.
Can I import characters from another proxy bot?
Yes. MultiMuse can import common proxy export JSON from dashboard Settings so you can move an existing cast without rebuilding every muse by hand.
What are Communities and Listings?
Communities is the MultiMuse server directory — where roleplay characters live. Listings is the partner directory — who they play with. Both are rolling out on multimuse.app (beta today). They are not called The Hub.
How do I add MultiMuse to my Discord server?
Open multimuse.app and use Add MultiMuse to your server, or invite the bot from the MultiMuse documentation. After invite, create muses and configure server settings from Discord or the dashboard.
How does MultiMuse relate to StageHand and BackDrop?
MultiMuse is where your characters live and play. StageHand (stagehand.quest) runs scenes, dice, and server automation. BackDrop (backdrop.quest) gives the world maps, wiki, and timeline. They work alone or together.
Where can I read docs or get support?
Documentation is at multimuse.app/docs. Patch notes are at multimuse.app/multimuse/patch-notes. For help, join the MultiMuse support Discord linked from the site footer and /support.
